How do I book Elati Photography for my wedding?

The first step to booking our photography services is to ensure that we are available on your wedding date.   Complete this quick contact form to find out our availability for your wedding.

Assuming we are available, the next step is to arrange a meeting.  Before any big decisions are made, we would like to sit down with you and your fiancé to get to know more about your needs, hopes and desires for your wedding photos or video.  It’s important to know what you are looking for so that we can make sure to deliver what you want.

If we all agree that our services and style will be a good fit for you, we can go ahead and book your date.  For booking, we require a non-refundable deposit in the amount of fifty percent of the total charge for services.

 

How far in advance should I book before our wedding date?

The sooner you book, the better so you can ensure that someone else does not reserve your wedding date.

 

Is there a deposit to hold my date?

Yes.  Wedding season quickly becomes busy with a majority of weddings occurring in just a few months.  A deposit is necessary to reserve your date.

 

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept check, cash, Visa or Master Card.  Please note that credit card transactions incur a three percent fee.  To avoid this fee, please plan on making payment by cash or check.

 

Why do I have to pay taxes?

Because the goverment says so.

 

When is the final payment due?

Final payment of the remaining balance is due thirty days prior to your wedding date.


Can you photograph our rehearsal dinner?

Absolutely.  Assuming we are available, we would be happy to photograph your rehearsal dinner or welcome reception for an additional charge.  Arrangements to photograph your rehearsal dinner can be made during our initial meeting.

 

Should my fiancé and I plan on doing a “first look”?

Great question.  There are benefits to a first look and there are also benefits to waiting to see each other at the ceremony.  We’ll be happy to present the benefits of both during our initial meeting and answer and questions you have about a first look.

 

Can you provide both photography and video services at my wedding?

Absolutely.  There are several benefits of working with a single studio for both photo and video.  One benefit is that you save time in communicating with just one studio instead of two. Perhaps the best reason is the quality.  We work as a team.  Working as a team means we collaborate to capture great shots for both photos and video.  We can also use the still pictures and incorporate them in the video to create a stunning multi-media piece that few others can offer.  This is truly a great opportunity.

 

When will we get to see the video from our wedding?

Within eight weeks of your wedding date, we will provide a link to view your edited video in high definition.  Four weeks after that you will receive your DVD.

 

Is the video in HD?

Yes, we shoot in High Definition 1080p to provide excellent clarity and quality for your wedding video.

 

When will we get to see the photos from our wedding?

Within ten days of your wedding, we will provide a sample of photos for you to view on our website.  We will provide a full online gallery of photos within eight weeks of your wedding day.  You will be able to purchase prints directly from your online gallery.

 

How many images do you provide?

The number of pictures provided will depend on the total number of hours that we photograph but in general, we present one hundred to one hundred fifty photos per hour of photography.

 

How can I buy prints?

Through our website we will host your photo gallery and link it directly to your online shopping cart.  You can peruse endlessly and choose any number of photos to order and in a variety of formats from canvas to matte to metal.  We work with the finest print lab in the country, Bay Photo, to provide the highest quality of prints to display in your home or share as gifts for parents and other loved ones.

 

What type of prints can I buy?

We provide a variety of high quality prints from lustre to canvas and matte to metal.  With the right frame size and location, these prints will display like artwork on the walls of your home.

 

When will I get my album?

We will provide an album proof within sixteen weeks of your wedding date.  Once the proof is presented, you will have two weeks to request any changes to your photo selection for the album.  After that your album will be sent to print.  Printing takes up to two weeks.  You should expect your alum twenty weeks after your wedding day

 

What is the difference between the Epoca and Celebrated albums?

Your Epoca album is made by hand in Italy.  The Epoca album comes in 12”x16” or 14”x14” with a minimum of twenty-four pages and an opportunity to add sixteen more.  The Epoca album also provides the option to include two parent albums to your collection.

Epoca has a passion for product perfection and is a leader in the industry.  In 2001 Epoca invented and patented the continuous page binding system (that removes the bothersome interruption normally found between the right and left-hand pages). This technology has since become a global standard.

The Celebrated album is produced by Floricolor.  The Celebrated album comes in 10″x10″ size with twelve pages.  Both albums are bound with a hardcover and with thick continuous pages that lay flat.  Each album also provides the option to personalize the cover with the photo of your choice or with your names embossed.

After the best photos are chosen for your album, we spend many hours designing a layout specifically for your wedding.


What is your photography style?

Kevin’s style is photojournalistic and Steve’s is more traditional.  We feel the grouping of our two photographic styles creates a great opportunity to combine candid pictures of raw emotion with the beauty of traditional shots many brides love.

 

What kind of cameras do you use? Will you have a backup camera?

We use a range of Cannon DSLR cameras including the 5D Mark III, Mark II, 5D and 7D.  We always carry a backup camera.

 

Why the name Elati?

We like to keep things close to home.  Elati is the name of the street where our business started.  We liked the way Elati sounded – simple, yet with an exotic and unique tone- and thought it would be a fun name for our business.

 

Are you really a father-in-law/son-in-law team?

Yes we are.  Kevin married Steve’s youngest daughter, Lindsey and now they have a child of their own with another on the way.  We’re all one big happy family!

 

Do you offer a photo booth?

We do not provide a photo booth but would be happy to recommend a company that does.
